Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. She is the owner and the president of Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up as an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss' father was a real-estate magnate who went on to own the Lakers as well as other sports companies. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated when her parents separated in the year 1972. As a 19-year-old she was able to take over management of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. The team was later renamed her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She was the president at the Great Western Forum, before being elected Vice President of the Lakers. Buss and her siblings, five sisters and brothers, as well as their father, who owned the Lakers and controlled them until his death in 2013, inherited the ownership via a trust. They each enjoyed equal voting rights. Buss assumed the role of president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also the co-owner of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling organization based within Los Angeles.
