Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive mix of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Her career path has taken her from Broadway to European events and clubs, up to at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang as well as was a pianist. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical training began on Atlanta's R&B Scene. In 2005 she took on the role of the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls show during Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media interest during four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
