Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her home town. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father came from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. When Ryder was just seven years old, her family relocated into Mendocino County California. They didn't even have electricity. Television books were the only way for Ryder to pass the time. Eventually, she was a voracious reader. Ryder began taking classes in acting at American Conservatory Theatre when she turned 12 years old. In 1986 she landed her first role on the big screen in the movie Lucas she was only fifteen years old. Ryder faced bullying during her high school years. Ryder believed that if she became an actor, her bullying would be changed. However, it didn't occur. However, she pushed on with her dream. In 1988, she received her biggest break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in a variety of films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her part on The Age of Innocence (1993).
